- Phuket is a destination for a good time vacation,

Phuket Town Hotels or Phuket City hotels are a good choice if you don’t want to visit the beach every day and rather stay not so close to the tourist crowd. At Phuket Town are all the important wet markets, the big and small shopping centers, the big ones are at bypass road just at exit of the town on the road crossing to Patong. There are several big Phuket City hotels on the upper prices scale and plenty of smaller Phuket Town Hotels and guesthouses, also low priced apartments are available in the city.

The Royal Phuket City Hotel, Metropole Hotel, Tavorn Hotel and Pearl Hotel are the biggest Phuket City Hotels. The Pearl Hotel right at downtown has the biggest massage parlor where you can get all kind of special Thai massages for the guys. Phuket City itself has lots of nightclubs with shows, singing, karaoke and at some of the nightclubs dozens of pretty Thai Girls are sitting around for a nice night out.

Phuket City is the hub for any transportation or trip outside of the island unless you book a trip at your hotel or resort at the beaches. Opposite the Royal Phuket City Hotel is the Phuket Bus Terminal for long distance buses such as Phuket Bangkok, Phuket Hat Yai, Phuket Trang, to Ranong, Krabi, Surat Thani, Satun, just name it, most buses leave in hour interval and are quite cheap in terms of prices, its mostly somewhere between $ 10,- and 20,-. The Buses leaving the Phuket Bus Terminal are also quite comfortable with service and toilet inside the bus. Seats easily mach business class seats in an aircraft. Also the Phuket Airport Bus is touching the place but the airport bus is a real mess if you are coming from the Airport to Town better take a minibus at the arrival hall center, there is also only a price difference of Baht 20,- for Phuket Town destination.

When you are Phuket town have a quick tour through the old Phuket Town its worth it. The area is very compact and the tour can be done within one or hours. You will see great old colonial villas in Sino Portuguese Style, Chinese Temples, Art Galleries, pretty restaurants and some beautiful restored houses from the last 3 centuries. There are also some small museums presenting Phuket's past, a very interesting one is dedicated to Phuket tin mining which the big Phuket Business before the tourist avalanche came.

The sun is burning, nightlife is vibrant, Phuket 's Andaman Sea coast and the small islands around are the target for hundreds of tourists every day. If one is out for a day long island tour go to Rawai Beach at the south west end of Phuket and rent either a speed boat or a long tail boat for a marvelous Phuket City day trip.

The sea off Phuket City (there is no beach around the city, also called Phuket Town) greets you with the usual emerald touch and if you go for a tour or maybe some scuba diving contact one of the travel agents which are almost everywhere in the city. Around Phuket Island you will find happy fishes, running crabs and plenty of corals to please your view.

There are plenty of Phuket girls and the ones who look like a girl but are not, are trying to make you happy and get some money out of it, there are plenty of Phuket bars, nightclubs, massage parlors, restaurants and other entertainment possibilities.

Phuket Beaches are waiting for you to relax and enjoy your vacations, explore the emerald waters of the Andaman Sea, do some snorkeling or scuba diving in the area around Phuket island or maybe a live aboard tour into the waters north of Phuket, around the Similan Archipelago and the Surin Islands. Plenty of other exiting targets are in the deep blue all the way up to Myanmar or Burma, this is behind Ranong, a first class scuba diving experience for your Phuket City are waiting.

A Phuket Thailand vacation has it all, it wont matter if you come on a vacation package or as a single traveler.

The travel agents are virtually at every corner at Phuket Town, Patong, Karon, Kata and all the other beach and tourist spots.

You could also have a look at the "Great Buddha" but in general  stay away from tuk-tuk's a encounter with this people almost always has a unpleasant ending.

Plenty of Phuket Tattoo Parlors at Karon beach and Patong Beach, presently 2010, there is no Tattoo Parlor at Phuket City or Phuket Town.

You also could do Phuket City rentals but this only makes sense if you stay lets say at least one month, otherwise the orientation period is relatively simply to long. One of the real great activities are Phuket scuba vacation, Around Phuket are some of the best diving grounds in the world. Such as

Similan Islands and plenty of other nice places, it also could be done via liveaboard. This are also just the right adventure vacation in Asia. Phuket has for sure more to offer as only beach vacation. But beach vacation in Phuket is what Phuket stands for plus nightlife. The center of beach and nightlife gravity in southern Thailand is here at Patong beach. For all this there are thousand of Phuket hotels, resorts and accommodations from luxury to very cheap its  all available on Phuket island and the area around. Means your best vacation can be cheap vacation or luxurious just the way you like it, cruise trips are also offered.

Phuket Kings Cup Regatta. The first Phuket - Thailand- Kings Cup Regatta was held in 1987 to celebrate the 60th birthday of His Majesty the King of Thailand. Now the Phuket - Thailand- Kings Cup Regatta it’s Asia’s premier sailing and yachting race event and held every year in the first week of December to commemorate His Majesty’s birthday on December 5th.

Phuket's Patong beach is legend but Patong Beach is only one of Phuket's beaches, there are plenty of other big, small, overcrowded or secluded you can have the exact beach you like and you will hardly have to drive more than an hour from any place to any beach from Phuket City. There is Kamala Beach,  Surin Beach, Nai Harn Beach, Kata Beach, Karon Beach and dozens of others.

Sometimes the weather at Phuket's west coast brings strong winds at that time some beaches are closed.
Actually there are many people who don't care and see this as just the right stuff to take the surfboard out and have a real surf. Because of the underwater topology the water shows very different behavior at different beaches.

This was also one of the reasons why at some west coast beaches most of the structures near the beach were destroyed and at other beaches almost nothing happen.

- The Tom Yam Seafood and other tasty food makes your

stomach happy during your Phuket stay , either it is with chili and coconut milk or "nam sei", that's a little bit sour. But not only Thai food is around, it's also German food, Austrian gourmet specialties, Italian-, French-,Spanish-, Indian-, Japanese-, Korean food and so on, just name it everyone try to make you happy and get (naturally) some money. If you eat something with liquid, like a soup, make sure the restaurant is not using water

Chalong Bay is the main public marina in Phuket, if you come in on your Phuket   with a boat or smaller yacht from outside Thailand you better come in here first.

There is also a ship repair facility at the right side of the pier, about 100 - 200 m looking outwards.
